Like many African returnees from the diaspora, our optimism was a little off the Richter Scale. Fueled with the idea that everyone we met had some incredible hidden talent , just waiting to be discovered we began to plan how best to showcase them. That was how TEDxNairobi was born, July 2009, in a very good year.
The realization that we have been living in a bubble, and there was so much to be done – create a platform for the voices that needed an audience. The inaugural TEDxNairobi was about the beginning of something that would help in changing opinions and how people deal with day to day crisis to help make our world a better place.
